SADIE’S LIST:
1. Brooklyn 99 Halloween Episodes
- Season 1: “Halloween”
- Season 2: “Halloween II”
- Season 3: “Halloween Part III”
- Season 4: “Halloween IV”
- Season 5: “HalloVeen”
- Season 6: “Cinco de Mayo”
- Season 7: “Valloweaster”
- Season 8: “Last Day”
HalloVeen is my favorite one because of the ending… if you haven’t watched Brooklyn 99 it would be a MAJOR spoiler to say what happens. But it’s just such a happy ending and I love it.
2. The Office Halloween Episodes
- “Halloween” (Season 2 Episode 5)
- “Employee Transfer” (Season 5 Episode 6)
- “Koi Pond” (Season 6 Episode 8)
- “Costume Contest” (Season 7 Episode 6)
- “Spooked” (Season 8 Episode 5)
- “Here Comes Treble” (Season 9 Episode 5)
Here Comes Treble has my favorite line– Creed comes into work and has red splattered all over him. A new guy leans over to him and says, “i didn’t realize that everyone here dresses up for halloween.” and then it cuts to a talking head of Creed and he says, “it’s halloween… that is really, really good timing.”
3. Psych Halloween Episodes
- Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast (Season 1 Episode 15)
- Heeeeere’s Lassie (Season 6 Episode 11)
- In Plain Fright (Season 5 Episode 11)
- Tuesday the 17th (Season 3 Episode 15)
- A Nightmare on State Street (Season 8 Episode 9)
Honestly, they are ALL so good. Scary Sherry was sooooo scary to me the first time I watched it. And Tuesday the 17th still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. 😂😂
4. Modern Family Halloween Episodes
They’re my least favorite episodes of the series, but I feel like I have to watch them at halloween. But my FAVORITE one of those episodes is “The Last Halloween”
- “Open House of Horrors” (Season 4, Episode 5)
- “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Phil Dunphy” (Season 9, Episode 5)
- “Halloween 3: AwesomeLand” (Season 6, Episode 6)
- “Good Grief” (Season 10, Episode 5)
- “Halloween 4: The Revenge of Rod Skyhook” (Season 8, Episode 5)
- “Halloween” (Season 2, Episode 6)
- “The Last Halloween” (Season 11, Episode 5)
5. New Girl Halloween Episodes
- Halloween (season 2, episode 6)
- Keaton (Season 3, Episode 6)
Keaton is my favorite of the two. I just love how they try to keep Schmidt’s childhood dreams alive.

KARLI’S LIST:
1. How I Met Your Mother Halloween Episodes
- The Slutty Pumpkin (Season 1, episode 6)
- Canning Randy (Season 6, episode 7)
- The Slutty Pumpkin Returns (Season 7, episode 8)
I like the first Slutty Pumpkin, but the second one makes me cringe so much! I hate how awful they made their dating story, but I get why they did it. I don’t mind the Canning Randy story, just because Randy’s character is so funny and random and not to spoil it, but the ending with what Robin was actually doing is pretty funny.
2. Pretty Little Liars Halloween Episodes
- The First Secret (Season 2, episode 13)
- This is ‘A’ Dark Ride (Season 3, episode 13)
- Grave New World (Season 4, episode 13)
I love that they are all episode 13, it just seems so perfect for me. PLL is even just a fun spooky show in general around Halloween time. The season 2 episode is a flashback to before Alison was killed, which I always love a good backstory episode. There were quite a few big moments in general that happen in this episode, which PLL does really well. Their Halloween episodes aren’t “one-offs” they actually move the story along. The Season 3 episode even has a cameo from Adam Lambert singing on the train they are all on. Plus they have an incredible finale with a major spoiler I’m dying to type out, but I won’t. 😉
3. Community Halloween Episodes
- Introduction To Statistics (Season 1, episode 7)
- Epidemiology (Season 2, episode 6)
- Horror Fiction In Seven Spooky Steps (Season 3, episode 5)
- Paranormal Parentage (Season 4, episode 2)
My favorite is probably Paranormal Parentage where they go to Pierce’s house and get spooked, but in true Community fashion I feel like you have to go with Horror Fiction episode because each character tells their own version of the escaped psychopath after finding out that one of them showed they may be a homicidal maniac after taking Brita’s personality test. That is such a Community thing to do and I love it.
4. Parks and Recreation Halloween Episodes
- Greg Pikitis (Season 2, episode 7)
- Meet ‘n’ Greet (Season 4, episode 5)
- Halloween Surprise (Season 5, episode 5)
I love the Greg Pikitis episode because the fact that this kid is her enemy is just too perfect for Leslie Knope. Also I love the Meet ‘n’ Greet episode because Andy and April are such a funny couple and I love that they throw a party without telling Ben and he just acts all passive aggressive. And Ron fixing the house with Ann is awesome. And Entertainment 720. Okay I should stop but it’s a really good episode.
5. Haunting Of Hill House TV Series
The entire series is a spooky supernatural horror drama it is one of those shows that switches between the past and present and you are constantly trying to figure out what is going on, but you don’t have all the information and then when you do you are just blown away. It has one of the scariest scenes ever too. I’ve never heard Kyle or my brother scream in a movie and they both did in this part. We still talk about it to this day.
